21 two piece sets and co-ords women should wear this summer (because absolutely everyone else is)
Dressing yourself during warm conditions is no easy feat, but we've noticed the ‘it’ girls of Instagram have found somewhat of a hack: two piece sets and co-ords.
While we're stood in front of our wardrobes pondering which of our summer dresses is floaty enough to bear the tube AND remain suitable enough for work, our favourite influencers are keeping cool in matching sets – and looking oh-so effortless while doing so.
Creating a #lewk needn't be as complicated as it can sometimes feel, especially when you make the addition of a few easy matching separates to your collection. Hark back to your uniform circa last year's heatwave-heavy summer. Sure, you might have had a brief dalliance with a few wedding guest dresses to attend the nuptials of your besties, and maybe ran a few errands in your high-waisted denim shorts and t-shirts, but if you're anything like the rest of the population then you likely cut your losses pretty early on and settled on a humble two piece set.
Comfortable, flattering, and – crucially – throw on-able, the best co ords women can buy were unsurprisingly the sartorial staple of 2022, which is why the fashion set haven't walked away from them this year. That said, they have had a little upgrade.
Less nightwear/pyjama-like and more suit-inspired (though maybe with more waistcoats than blazers), two piece sets are now thought of as the fancier – but no less simple – version of your tried and true loungewear. Not only will they make getting dressed ten times faster (they're a ready-made outfit, after all), but they're also incredibly versatile.
If you're heading for a picnic in the park, GANNI x Coggles have a floral-print organic cotton two piece set that needs nothing more than a pair of dad sandals to complete the look.
Looking for something a little more office appropriate? This Nobody's Child linen waistcoat and matching tailored trousers is ideal for hot days commuting to and from work, while Lafayette's cropped cady top and maxi skirt are spot on for lunch with the girls.
