Sometimes going from super-duper long hair to just slightly long is absolutely worthy of attention, especially when it turns out as chic as Khloe Kardashian, who just debuted a new chop.
Khloe's default hair length over the last few years has been waist-length. Sure, she'll sporadically show up in a photo shoot with a temporary bob or a couple of inches seemingly trimmed off, but for the most part, hair-down-to-there has become the reality star and entrepreneur's signature style.
So when she posted a mirror selfie to Instagram revealing that her hair is now just a couple of inches past shoulder-length — and that it's not a wig but an actual cut — you could've knocked us over with a pair of thinning shears.
In the photo, posted to her Stories, Khloe reveals the middle-parted new style, which was cut by stylist Irinel de León, who was also responsible for Khloe's auburn look in her recent Fabletics campaign. And if it's got you suddenly thinking that you might like a similar look, you're not alone. Ouai and Mane founder Jen Atkin reposted the photo and wrote, “Now I want to be blonde with this length.”
And it seems Kardashian didn't take the decision lightly. She re-reposted the photo in response to Atkin and wrote, “My oh my how quickly things can change… I won't even begin to discuss the panic when I mentioned I was going to cut my hair lol.”
But the panic was definitely not warranted; the cut came out fabulous, and I wouldn't be surprised if it kicks off a long-overdue mid-length trend. So, if you see all the girls lopping off their extra length, you have Khloe Kardashian to thank.
