The best new perfumes to spritz heading into the next season

A new perfume is the best way to switch things up and create an entirely different aura, especially as we enter a new season. And, since scents are so tightly tied to our memories, it makes sense to start fresh and signal the beginning of spring heading our way soon.
In general, perfume houses tend to stick to two times of the year to release their all-guns-blazing, new fragrances: the beginning of spring/summer (around March/April time) and the beginning of autumn/winter (around September), but now's as good an opportunity as any to find forever scents that work year-round, too, so we've rounded up a plethora of new fragrances that cover all bases.
Headliners from the latest drop include Maison Francis Kurkdjian's much-anticipated new launch, Reflets d'ambre. Created to mark the 175th anniversary of Harrods, it already follows the blueprint of the brand's most coveted scent, Baccarat Rouge 540, which was first designed to commemorate the 250th anniversary of legacy crystal house, Baccarat.
Elsewhere, Kilian is hellbent on giving us a scent to remember with Born To Be Unforgettable. Instead of a ubiquitous floral bouquet, it's designed to capture the refreshing scent profile of a sparkling sip of cola. And, given the brand's previous creation Love Don't Be Shy, is rumoured to count Rihanna as a celebrity fan, we're rushing to get a sniff.
And Dior has given us a brand new take on Miss Dior with a 2024 parfum rendition that moves closer to the 2012 Miss Dior with the re-introduction of patchouli, but still keeps the floral-fresh feel of recent editions with apricot, peach and floral notes.

So, if you're looking to discover a scent with longevity and who knows? Perhaps even your new signature scent, read on. Whether it's a gift for yourself or a friend (kudos to you if you’re the nose behind your best mates new “forever” scent), there's plenty of new spritzes to choose from.

A statement amber
Maison Francis Kurkdjian Reflets d'ambre Eau de Parfum, £230 for 70ml, Harrods
If you're familiar with Maison Francis Kurkdjian scents, you'll know that delicate airy eau de toilettes are not their aesthetic. Reflets d'ambre is another show-stopper centred around a confident amber note. But after an audacious opening it mellows and becomes creamier as the vanilla comes through. If you're looking for an old money scent with some serious throwback glamour, this is it.
A modern throwback
Miss Dior Parfum, £126 for 80ml, Boots
Created by the nose behind TikTok’s cult Baccarat Rouge 540, Francis Kurdjian, alongside Dior's long-time perfumer François Demachy, the new Miss Dior parfum was designed with some heavy nostalgia. For those familiar with the much-loved and much-missed 2012 version of the scent, this moves closer, thanks to the re-introduction patchouli. And if you look at the notes of the 2012 and 2024 blends, there's plenty of overlap: mandarin, jasmine, floral notes and patchouli. But, it also keeps some of the cutesy quality of the 2021 rendition with apricot and peach, though the vanilla and tonka bean have been swapped out. The result is a gorgeous floral that's recaptured that sexy element of Miss Dior 2012.
Old-school cola
Kilian Born To Be Unforgettable, £110 for 50ml, Selfridges
While previous concoctions by Kilian (like Love Don't Be Shy and Angels' Share) are unashamedly sweet and feminine, Born To Be Unforgettable leans more masculine. It's opening feels a little aftershave-y, but as it dries down the syrupy scent of cola comes through. It has a retro quality to it – like the cola cube sweets you get in old fashioned candy shops. It's a bit of curveball fragrance, but if you relish smelling fragrances that are a little different, it's definitely one to sniff
A sporty citrus
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche Eau de Parfum, £99 for 50ml, Boots
Chanel's Chance Eau Fraiche is a sparkling, soapy floral citrus. It's bright, it's light, it's uplifting, but now it's a little more intense thanks the eau de parfum update. It's the perfect choice to cool things down with a drench of citron on a hot day.
A new skin scent
Narciso Rodriguez for her Musc Nude Eau de Parfum, £50.15 for 30ml, Boots
The latest fragrance from Narciso was designed specifically to blend naturally with the skin with notes of white flowers, musk, damask rose, orange blossom and tonka bean. Its perfumer, Sonia Constant revealed “the heart of musk, combined with the other notes of the fragrance, mimics the scent of the skin, creating an intimate and comforting effect.”
A sexy floral
Jo Malone London Red Hibiscus Cologne, £150 for 100ml, Look Fantastic
Florals in the form of jasmine, hibiscus, ylang ylang, black orchid and water lily are warmed up with black cardamom, vanilla, amber and incense for a sexy floral that still feels fresh thanks to ginger and mandarin.
A summer tipple
By Kilian Blue Moon Ginger Dash, £195 for 50ml, Selfridges
By Kilian is not known for making shy and retiring fragrances, instead the brand pushes the boundary with audacious, show-stopping and addictive scents that (rumour has it) have even seduced the likes of Rihanna. Joining the liquors collection is the cheekiest scent of the bunch. Inspired by the ‘90s blue lagoon cocktail (a favourite of founder Kilian Hennessy) it nods to the mix of lemon, vodka and blue curaçao liquor, only it’s been updated with a dash of ginger for a splashy fresh scent that’s got a kick. It leans more masculine than feminine, but if that's your bag, this smells like carefree days getting tipsy in the sunshine.
Green vines vibes
Maison Margiela From The Garden Eau de Toilette, £120 for 100ml at Selfridges
Rather than majoring on petals, From The Garden takes you straight to the greenhouse, summoning lush tomato vines soaked in sunshine before settling into an easy-going green floral. It blends notes of tomato leaf, green mandarin, geranium and patchouli.

A boozy floral
Zadig & Voltaire This Is Really Her Eau de Parfum, £61 for 30ml, The Perfume Shop
This is more than a warm floral. Dig a little deeper and you discover that the scent wraps the rose note at its heart in spicy basil and pink pepper with a dash of rum-like amber. It's intriguing and boozy, and the sort of scent that will make you stand out from the crowd in a busy bar.
Fresh foliage
Fornasetti Extrait de Parfum Giardino Segreto Extrait Parfum, £480 for 100ml, Harrods
Fornasetti has released a trio of fragrances in time for spring, but perhaps the most unusual is Giardino Segreto, which translated from Italian means “secret garden”. Instead of florals being the sole focus, the scent taps into lush green foliage with tart rhubarb and blackcurrant tangled with with tomato leaves, before the scent makes its way towards a richer base of ebony, myrrh and sandalwood.
A breezy citrus
Jo Loves With Love From Positano, £135 for 100ml, Jo Loves
This is a total escapist scent, inspired by Italy's Amalfi Coast, it's a bracing citrus with orange oil, bergamot and star anise and it's the perfect scent to signal al fresco apertifs as the evenings become warmer.
A sunny citrus
Parfums de Marly Perseus Eau de Parfum, £200 for 70ml, Harrods
This zesty burst of bergamot, grapefruit and blackcurrant bud, gives a peppy uplifting scent, but it isn't your typical overly-citrusy scent that wouldn't be as wearable outside of the summer months. The blend of cashmere wood, tonka bean and spices mean it could easily become an everyday, pick-me-up type of a perfume, plus they add an elegant contrast to the uplifting notes to give a scent that's sunshine in a bottle.

Pretty in pink
Carolina Herrera Good Girl Blush Elixir Eau de Parfum, £74 for 30ml, Look Fantastic
This is like the big sis version of the original Good Girl Blush, the floral vanilla base remains with some new notes remixed up top. Mandarin’s been swapped in for bitter almond, rose replaces peony and patchouli has taken the place of coumarin. It’s a slightly more grown-up floral that’s still very wearable.
Green tea
Valentino Born in Roma Donna Green Stravaganza Eau de Parfum, £95 for 50ml, Look Fantastic
If you’re after something fresh but not floral, this green tea scent is lush, uplifting and airy thanks to lapsang souchong tea and jasmine absolute, but vanilla brings a little warmth in the base.

Libre's spicy little sister
YSL Libre Le Parfum, £88 for 50ml, LookFantastic
This is OG Libre’s naughty little sister, and this time, she’s spicy. Saffron flower is the show-stopper centre-piece to the fragrance, with the note harvested directly from Morocco’s Ourika Garden – but dainty whispers of lavender and orange blossom remain. The ambery, vanilla, honey and vetiver base create a gorgeous nod to cosier autumn months. It’s sexy and soothing all in one hit.
